Treo users - fake your next phone call

Posted in Humor, Random, Stupid by Derek at 2:30 pm

fakecall treoOh how I wish more cell phones had similar functionality - even if through 3rd party software. Toysoft development has created an interesting and functional little application for Treo users by the name of Fakecall.

Fake Call is a program that is intended to give Treo 600 owners a way to escape impromptu office meetings and unwanted social interactions using the Treo — by simulating incoming phone calls! With your phone in your pocket, press and hold a hard key or setup an appointment in the Contacts application and voila! A call will materialize from anyone you want, your phone will light up like a Christmas tree, your faovirite ringtone will sound and, when you accept your fake call, an active call screen identical to a real one will display and a voice will be heard on the other end of the line! This program is a true escape from any unwanted situation!

For about $6, Treo users can setup their handsets to receive a fake phone call. This goes above and beyond setting your handset alarm and assigning a ring tone.

I was a beta tester for this service, and it is pretty neat. It is not a program that runs on your Treo (or whatever handset) but it can be initiated from your handset by dialing (speed dialed) a phone number. There are many hilarious voices to choose from, but I uploaded my
wife’s voice calling me that the hot water heater busted. And surprisingly it is totally free!

    it is at http://www.stopgab.com.
